At Enhanced Living, we believe care should fell like belonging. Our homes across Atlantic Canada are welcoming communities where residents are known by name, supported with dignity, and surrounded by comfort.
Enhanced Living launches CareForward Program
Last June 2026, the Enhanced Living team launched CareForward: our new three-month long employee development program. The program was designed to invest in the growth and development of selected employees nominated by their managers for their potential. The first of its kind, the CareForward program includes various activities meant to engage employees. These activities include self reflection assessments, facility-based focus groups and individual one on one development conversations with the program leader.
Participants were nominated based on employee contributions to the workplace along with their potential for growth within the company and community. Throughout the activities, participants were asked to identify their own strengths, goals and opportunities in order to build their confidence, communication and teamwork skills. This batch of participants, made up of employees from our Garden Home and Whisperwood care homes, is called a cohort.
The CareForward program was spearheaded by lead program coordinator Paolo Flores and facilitator Ann Worth of Worth Consulting Group. Both Paolo and Ann worked with the participants from June 2026 until their final culminating session that was held last September 16. All members of the cohort, as well as company executives and leaders, took part in the discussions and awards ceremony.
“The spirit of Caring Forward is celebrating the journey of our employees, as well as carrying the learnings back into the workplace - through everyday acts of support, stronger relationships and a willingness to keep growing,” said Paolo Flores
Participants gave positive feedback about their experience of the program.
Ebin Joseph, a dietary manager at both Whisperwood and Garden Home, said, “The nomination acknowledged my growth, consistent leadership and perseverance at Enhanced Living.” After graduating from the Culinary Institute and various kitchens on PEI, Ebin began working at Garden Home in March of 2024. Joining the program reminded him to apply the skills he gained from his work in Southern India, and career experience from PEI. Ebin goes on to say that his work ethic, and adaptability were reinforced through activities like the one-on-one sessions. “Through the sessions with Ann, I learned how to delegate and navigate specific employee dynamics,” said Ebin.
Aanchal Rajput, an employee from Whisperwood and a Holland College marketing graduate, said that gaining the skill of self reflection was invaluable in both her professional life and on a personal level. She found the group discussions and the one-on-one sessions with Ann to be helpful. Aanchal enjoyed the chance to meet, work and collaborate with people from other departments. Throughout the program, she was able to acknowledge and resolve her weaknesses both as a student and as a part of the work force.
Enhanced Living is pleased to have this program as an opportunity for our employees to grow their skills together, set their goals and harness their strengths. The EL team is proud of our employees, and happy to champion them.
