At Enhanced Living, we believe care should fell like belonging. Our homes across Atlantic Canada are welcoming communities where residents are known by name, supported with dignity, and surrounded by comfort.
Whisperwood Villa Expansion
October 6, 2026, Enhanced Living announced an exciting new chapter for Whisperwood! We are expanding our care home with 82 new long-term care beds, creating more opportunities for Island seniors to receive the quality care, comfort, and support they deserve. This expansion will feature private resident rooms with dedicated washrooms, a new kitchen and dining room, and four additional activity spaces designed to encourage connection, engagement, and a true sense of community.
More than just an expansion, this project represents our continued commitment to person-centred care and enhancing the lives of our residents. Through this public-private partnership, we look forward to creating approximately 150 new jobs and strengthening long-term care services on Prince Edward Island. Construction is expected to begin in spring 2027, with the first residents anticipated in fall 2029.
During the announcement, our CFO Joshua Simon proudly highlighted that Whisperwood has remained fully staffed for over three years, reflecting the organization's commitment to supporting its employees and delivering exceptional resident care. As Joshua shared, "You are the reason why so many families trust in us."
We extend our sincere gratitude to our government partners, dedicated staff, residents, families, and everyone who helped make this exciting announcement possible. As we look toward the future, we remain committed to making Whisperwood a place where residents feel valued, supported, and truly at home.
Here's to growing together and building a brighter future for seniors on PEI!
